The National Quality Forum has released 21 newly endorsed surgical-care measures, addressing procedures such as esophageal resection and coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
The measures are part of the NQF's Surgery Endorsement Maintenance project, which launched in 2010 with the goal of identifying measures that specifically address surgical patients and procedures. Phase 2 will cover general surgery, as well as subspecialties such as neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery, according to the NQF.
