AJMC Sets Infectious Disease Meeting for Atlanta
The American Journal of Managed Care will host a two-day event September 25-26, 2014, to take on some of healthcare's biggest challenges: Treatments that cure hepatitis C are making news but upending balance sheets. A recent recommendation seeks preventive therapy to stop new cases of HIV. Hospitals and public health officials are grappling with how to prevent the spread of MERS. Only AJMC will bring payers, clinicians, policy leaders, and pharmaceutical representatives together to share ideas.
PLAINSBORO, N.J. — The realm of infectious disease offers some of the nation’s greatest recent healthcare successes and its biggest challenges. Discussions about curing hepatitis C, preventing HIV, stopping hospital-acquired infections, and overusing antibiotics demand input from all parts of the system.
To do that, The American Journal of Managed Care will bring together stakeholders for a two-day live meeting, “Value-Based Decision-Making in Infectious Disease,” to be held September 25-26, 2014, at the Loews Atlanta Hotel. For information and registration, click here.
“New therapies, and new ways to use them, present today’s toughest decisions for payers and employers. Everyone who has a stake in these conversations should come share ideas, hear from leaders in the field, and leave with new resources for information,” said Brian Haug, president of The American Journal of Managed Care.
The format features speakers, panel discussions, networking, and participation from attendees. Agenda topics will include:
- Preventing infections in both hospital and community healthcare settings
- Improving outcomes in viral hepatitis
- Addressing today’s challenges in preventing and treating HIV.
