An article by HealthPayerIntelligence cited a study published in the July 2020 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care®. The study, “Patient Preferences for Provider Choice: A Discrete Choice Experiment,” used a discrete choice experiment to analyze patient preferences for attributes of provider choice and found that coverage of a personal doctor was the most important attribute, followed by premium, wait time to see a primary care provider, the breadth of the network, and travel time to the closest doctor covered by the plan.
