An article in The Philadelphia Inquirer referenced a study published in the October 2023 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Impact of the Collaborative Care Model on Medical Spending,” found that overall health care costs did not increase after modest spending on integrated mental health services in primary care.
A news release from Gainwell referenced a study published in the August 2023 issue of AJMC. The study, “Predicting Hospital Readmission in Medicaid Patients With Diabetes Using Administrative and Claims Data,” found that 30-day hospital readmission in Medicaid patients with diabetes could be accurately predicted using a statistical model based on claims data.
An article by Managed Healthcare Executive cited a study published in the August 2020 issue of AJMC. The study, “The Hepatitis B Care Cascade Using Administrative Claims Data,” showed that 36% of hepatitis B patients received recommended care and only 18% were prescribed treatment, based on a large, nationally representative claims database.

The article, “US Has Highest Infant, Maternal Mortality Rates Despite the Most Health Care Spending,” described how the United States had the highest rate of mortality in infants and mothers compared with other high-income countries.
An article from Health Digest cited an article published on AJMC.com. The article, “Preservatives, Dietary Elements Identified as Contributors to Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes,” covered evidence that flavorings and preservatives in processed foods were a contributor to obesity and type 2 diabetes.
An article from Financial Express mentioned a contributor article published on AJMC.com. The article, “Contributor: In the Misdiagnosis of Menopause, What Needs Change?,” discussed how misdiagnosis and improper treatment of menopause is occurring due to symptoms not being recognized.
A piece by Wisconsin Public Radio, an affiliate of NPR, referenced a Stakeholder Summit video published on AJMC.com. The video, “Racial Disparities Associated With Endometriosis Diagnosis,” featured 4 doctors discussing racial disparities that are associated with the diagnosis of endometriosis.
