An article in Health Payer Intelligence referenced a study published in the December 2022 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Incentivizing Data Sharing Among Health Plans, Hospitals, and Providers to Improve Quality,” found that health plans could be more efficient and improve their quality through connecting networks of health information.
A study titled “Characteristics of Self-Triaged Emergency Department Visits by Adults With Cancer,” published in the September 2023 issue of AJMC, was referenced in articles by both HealthDay and Express Healthcare Management. The study found that patients with cancer had trouble self-assessing their acute care needs but also rarely used available triage lines.
A study to be published in the November 2023 issue of AJMC, titled “Long-Term Health Care Costs Following COVID-19: Implications for Pandemic Preparedness,” was referenced in an article published by Express Healthcare Management. The study found that there were excess health care costs in the year following a COVID-19 diagnosis, both in the general and older adult populations.
An article from Reason referenced a study published in the May 2016 issue of AJMC. The study, “A Cost-Effectiveness Analysis of Over-the-Counter Statins,” estimated the cost and benefit of statins purchased over the counter.
An article from Middle Market Growth referenced an article published on AJMC.com, the website of AJMC. The article, “US Study Examines Impact of Technology Use on Sleep Disorders,” found that sleep disorders were most common in Americans younger than 25 years, shift workers, and those living in urban areas.
