AHIMA: Keep Going on ICD-10

"If healthcare providers stop their ICD-10 planning and implementation now and wait to see if Congress will take action, they will not be ready in time for the compliance date," said Dan Rode, AHIMA vice president for advocacy and policy, in a statement (PDF).

Last week, AMA Executive Vice President and CEO Dr. James Madara asked in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner to stop the ICD-10 upgrade "and to call on stakeholders to assess an appropriate replacement for ICD-9."
