CMS released final rules for both the 2015 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and the 2015 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System.
CMS has released its final rule on the 2015 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. The rule, which became available on October 31, 2014, can be viewed at
. It is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on November 13, 2014.
CMS estimates that in calendar year 2015 the hematology/oncology specialty will face a positive impact of 1%. It is important to note that the actual impact on individual physician practices will depend on the mix of services provided. ASCO will be analyzing the final rule in greater detail and more information will be forthcoming.
CMS also released its final rule for the 2015 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System, which can be viewed at https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2014/11/10/2014-26146/hospital-outpatient-prospective-payment-and-ambulatory-surgical-center-payment-systems-and-quality. The rule is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on November 10, 2014. ASCO will be analyzing this final rule as well and more information will be shared shortly.
