Fort Myers, Florida — Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) oncology nurse Brandi Riber, RN, was recently announced as 1 of 3 winners of the inaugural Metastatic Breast Cancer Heroes award by CURE Media Group.
First diagnosed with breast cancer on January 4, 2010, Riber was considered cancer-free after initial treatment, but was diagnosed again 4 years later with metastatic breast cancer. Riber is also the recipient of the FCS Excellence in Patient Care Award, where she was recognized across the organization’s more-than 100 practices for going above and beyond for her patients.
“This recognition and Brandi’s commitment to our patients in addition to her own personal cancer journey epitomize the very heart and soul of our organization,” stated FCS chief executive officer Nathan H. Walcker.
