Kashyap Patel, MD, described an initiative he launched at his practice, Carolina Blood and Cancer Care Associates. Building partnerships in the community is not easy and takes time while the need to care for patients is ongoing. Stephen Schleicher, MD, MBA, chief medical officer, Tennessee Oncology, said the process will formalize existing structures.
