Understanding the scope, as well as the underlying drivers, of the opioid epidemic is crucial for gaining hold of and ending the epidemic. We then speak with Magdalena Cerdá, DrPH, associate professor of population health and director of the Center for Opioid Epidemiology and Policy at NYU School of Medicine, who was the senior author on a study that demonstrated an association between physician-targeted marketing and opioid overdose deaths.
