Number 5: HHS announced the launch of 5 new payment models to improve kidney disease care. The proposed models would encourage greater use of home dialysis and kidney transplants in Medicare and to test new Medicare payment options for kidney disease care.

Number 4: The FDA has approved Eli Lilly’s nasal glucagon, the first such therapy approved for the emergency treatment of severe hypoglycemia that can be administered without an injection.

Number 3: A study found that the amount of riboflavin, or vitamin B2, that someone consumes through their diet could have an impact on migraine. The findings revealed that study participants who consumed more riboflavin experienced reductions in migraine occurrence.

Number 2: A bipartisan group of senators introduced legislation that calls for cutting insulin prices up to 75%, which would give more patients with diabetes the ability to take the right dose and more families a chance to recover from years of rising out-of-pocket costs.

Number 1: By combining CRISPR and long-acting slow-effective release antiretroviral therapy, researchers were able to effectively eliminate HIV from the genomes of approximately 30% of infected mice.
