Realigning Accountability to Improve Population Healthcare Delivery Under MIPS
In this month's issue of The American Journal of Accountable Care®, a sister publication of The American Journal of Managed Care®, a commentary argues that current population health efforts under Medicare's Merit-based Incentive System (MIPS) have been hampered by the misalignment of accountability, and therefore, population health management will improve when shared accountability among stakeholders is achieved.
In this month's issue of The American Journal of Accountable Care®, a sister publication of The American Journal of Managed Care®, a commentary argues that current population health efforts under Medicare's Merit-based Incentive System have been hampered by the misalignment of accountability, and therefore, population health management will improve when shared accountability among stakeholders is achieved. The authors of the commentary offer recommendations for realigning accountability, which they say currently relies too heavily on the single physician.
