Ochsner Offering PrEP Services to Increase Access to HIV Prevention Pill

In an effort to increase access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prophylaxis, Ochsner Health System is offering the pill at Ochsner Health Center – Tchoupitoulas.

In an effort to increase access to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prophylaxis, Ochsner Health System is offering the pill at Ochsner Health Center — Tchoupitoulas. These services are confidential and available by appointment. Louisiana ranks fourth in the nation for highest HIV incidence rates, and New Orleans is fourth in the nation for the number of new HIV cases among the large metropolitan areas.

In addition to accessing PrEP, the health system will offer sexually trasmitted disease diagnosis and treatment; hepatitis A, hepatitis B, and human papillomavirus vaccinations; and evaluation for common problems with sexual function.
