An article from The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®) was mentioned in an article from MedPage Today. The AJMC® article, “MEDCAC Panel Mostly Endorses PROs for CAR T Therapies,” covered a meeting of the Medicare Evidence Development and Coverage Advisory Committee where panelists heard from chimeric antigen receptor T therapy drug makers, health researchers, and policy makers on the inclusion of patient-reported outcomes in its national coverage analysis decision.

HealthExec’s article on electronic health record alerts centered around a study published in the August issue of AJMC®, “Choosing Wisely Clinical Decision Support Adherence and Associated Inpatient Outcomes.” The study examined the outcomes associated with adherence to Choosing Wisely recommendations embedded into clinical decision support alerts and found that patients did better and saved money when doctors followed the alerts. The Sacramento Bee and Health Data Management also included the study in their articles on real-time technology.

Skilled Nursing News’ article on after-hours telemedicine focused on another study from the August issue of AJMC®, “Impact of After-Hours Telemedicine on Hospitalizations in a Skilled Nursing Facility,” which highlighted clinical and financial outcomes of an after-hours on-demand telemedicine intervention in a skilled nursing facility.

The National Pharmaceutical Council’s Tuesday CER Daily Newsfeed included the AJMC® article “Substituting Brand-Name Combinations for Generics Could Have Saved Medicare $925 Million in 2016,” which reported on a study assessing the financial impact of lower-cost generics. Thursday’s CER Daily Newsfeed included an AJMC® contributor article written by the Innovation and Value Initiative. The article, “Is One Answer Good Enough For All? Defining Value in Healthcare,” delved into different understandings and definitions of value based on a multitude of factors, such as health status, demographics, geography, and economic situation.

This week, AJMC® and CURE, a sister publication of AJMC®, announced strategic alliance partnerships with The Biden Cancer Initiative. The announcement was highlighted by The Daily Times, a daily newspaper in Tennessee.
