This week, Jennifer Bresnick of HealthIT Analytics wrote about the new study in The American Journal of Managed Care that discusses when providers should justify the expense for care coordination tools. Bresnick writes that the study, led by Robert Rudin, PhD, found that outlays for health information technology investments are not a “slam dunk” if providers are still trying to define their value proposition. Population health may lead to greater healthcare quality, but savings may be another story, researchers found in interviews.
