Can you provide a sneak peek of some of your key talking points? (to run ahead of the meeting)
So, for the first session, which is on the future of specialty pharmacy, we're really going to focus on 3 things. We're going to talk about the future of health care at the broadest level, and how we see the evolving role of the consumer and an increased focus on both data and digital, and how that is shaping the future world. We're then going to kind of go down from there to talk about the future of pharmacy, specifically, and look at how we see care and prescriptions being delivered differently in the future. So, how virtual and digital play, how home health is coming into play, where we see some of those shifts happening.
And then finally, we're going to go a little bit deeper, specifically in the specialty pharmacy and talk about how we see clinical innovation happening and how we see the clinical innovation dovetailing with some of the technology innovations that think about things like implantables and the integration of drug into device and how that's changing, and the implications that that will have on the payment model in the future. That's the presentation on the future of specialty pharmacy.
The other panel that I'm leading where we're going to talk about health equity, we're going to be asking a series of questions, looking at a couple of specific things. One, talking about some of the structural flaws that lead to health inequities, and specifically what those are within pharmacy. We're going to talk about how people can use data and the data around social determinants of health or drivers of health to educate and help pharmacists who have been focused on social determinants of health for years to continue to evolve that role and take a broader role. And then finally, within the panel, we'll also be looking at things like pharmacy deserts and how people of color are 2 times more likely to live in a pharmacy desert, and what implications that might have on things like planned design.
