Dr. Niteesh Choudhry Discusses Value-Based Insurance Design [Part 3 of 4]

Article

Dr. Niteesh Choudhry, Associate Professor, Harvard Medical School, Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics in Boston, highlights some of the unanticipated findings from the “Full Coverage for Preventive Medication after Myocardial Infarction” study.

Dr. Choudhry talks about the modest magnitude of medication adherence improvement among patients who had been discharged from the hospital after being treated for a heart attack. He and his co-authors had expected a significant spike in compliance when these patients had no out-of-pocket expenses.
