For example, reminder systems can help patients remember to refill prescriptions, perform blood sugar tests, and administer insulin. These systems are a cost-effective method for helping remind patients to perform specific behaviors for a short-time, and should be implemented for newly diagnosed patients to assit them in becoming acclimated to the self-management of their diabetes.
