Asembia's AXS25 Summit will unite more than 8000 key decision-makers to explore pharmacy innovation, artificial intelligence, policy, and patient care from April 27 to May 1 at Wynn & Encore in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Asembia’s AXS25 Summit is slated to be an invigorating conference where thousands of the nation’s leading pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry experts will gather to share knowledge, collaborate, and explore innovations within the pharmacy landscape.
The conference will take place at Wynn & Encore, Las Vegas, beginning on Sunday, April 27, and will run until Thursday, May 1.
"Asembia is a conference that I've attended since its early days, so I definitely attend to not only reconvene with some contacts within the industry network and collaborate with industry peers, but also one of the things that Asembia does a great job of is all of the sessions and educational components," said Fran Gregory, PharmD, MBA, vice president of emerging therapies at Cardinal Health, in an interview with The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®).
Attendees include c-suite executives, market access professionals, pharmacy owners/operators, managed care leadership, drug purchasing agents/ trade teams, pharmacists, nurses, physicians, product brand teams, national and regional account managers, industry consultants, and other important health care & pharmacy supply chain professionals.
Last year, the conference hosted more than 1400 companies and more than 8000 attendees, of whom 79% were “director level” or above key decision-makers.
The first full day of AXS25 kicks off on Monday, April 28, with various continuing education sessions with specialty topics such as real-world applications of new therapies, management strategies in pulmonary arterial hypertension, and biologic therapy use in asthma management.
On Tuesday, April 29, multiple general sessions will be taking place in the morning. Doug Long, vice president of industry relations at IQVIA, will present on recent US pharmaceutical trends, issues, and what’s next to come in the industry.
There will also be a pharmacy panel, featuring key industry experts: Lucille Accetta, RPh, MPH, MBA, senior vice president of pharmacy benefit management and specialty product development, CVS Health; Thomas Cohn, MS, chief strategy officer, Asembia; Bruce Japsen, senior contributor, Forbes; Tanvi Patel, vice president and general manager, Amazon Pharmacy; and Guillermo Sollberger, senior vice president, CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy.
In another fascinating general session titled ‘Humanity in Action: The Importance of Empathy & Service,’ keynote speaker Gary Sinise, actor-humanitarian and founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation, will be joined by Shannon Bream, anchor of Fox News Sunday.
As the cost of care continues to rise, artificial intelligence (AI) is establishing itself as a prominent tool in the pharmacy space to help manage costs and optimize billings.1 However, this comes with new legal and ethical considerations. The use of AI will be a key topic of the conference, with multiple sessions that will cover AI’s different roles in pharmacy practice, as well as its regulatory challenges.
Importantly, multiple sessions will discuss key insights and takeaways from the first few months of the Trump administration and Congress. Following President Donald J. Trump’s push for tariffs for almost all US imports, including pharmaceuticals, it is essential that industry leaders are well-versed on the topic of tariff, supply chain, and policy issues impacting pharmacy.2
Other important topics that will be highlighted at the conference include updates and insights into the Inflation Reduction Act, navigating 340B, the role of integrated delivery networks, innovations in specialty pharmacy, and ways to improve the quality, access, and cost of care for patients.
