Hi, this is Jaime Rosenberg for The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). Here are the top 5 articles for the month of August.
Number 5: Earlier this month, CMS announced that it will cover CAR T-cell therapies for Medicare beneficiaries nationwide. The agency approved the national coverage determination without some of the requirements that had some providers concerned.

Number 3: A study in this month’s issue of AJMC® concluded that California’s experience implementing a policy to address surprise medical billing demonstrates that out-of-network payment standards can influence payer—provider bargaining leverage, affecting prices and network breadth.
Number 2: Researchers say they have discovered a potential new approach that can further suppress HIV infection. According to the researchers, the approach could complement antiretroviral therapy regimens in suppressing the silent virus these regimens struggle to combat.
Number 1: The American Heart Association released an advisory report saying that today’s prescription omega-3 fatty acid drugs effectively lower triglycerides and that patients should avoid treating themselves with fish oil supplements not approved by the FDA.
