Dr George notes that in an ideal world a multidisciplinary clinic would not be necessary. Multidisciplinary clinics deliver the tools to practitioner to make the best decisions for their patients. They are important environments for clinicians to make balanced decision. Panelists agree that a rational decision approach, shared decision making, and active surveillance are all needed in order to screen and treat appropriately for prostate cancer.
