He is joined by panel experts Jack Goldberg, MD, clinical professor of medicine and chief, Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center; Shaji K. Kumar, MD, professor of medicine and consultant, Division of Hematology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation, Mayo Clinic; Gene Reeder, Rph, PhD, director, Managed Care Networks, Xcenda; and Anne Quinn Young, MPH, vice president of development and strategic partnerships, Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).
The panelists begin with a general discussion that focuses on the diagnosis and prognosis of multiple myeloma, including if early diagnosis is possible. Dr Kumar begins by analyzing whether there is evidence for familial myeloma.
