PCOC15 Keynote: Using Our Collective Wisdom to Thrive in a Post-SGR World
At the 2015 Patient-Centered Oncology Care meeting, Julie M. Vose, MD, MBA, FASCO, president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, gave the keynote speech and discussed the burden facing providers today to reach the goal of the triple aim.
Providing individualized care may be what many physicians went to medical school for, but the reality today is that there is a growing burden of administration and increasingly scarce time available to spend with patients, especially those who have complex illnesses like cancer.
So how does the healthcare industry effect change needed to achieve the triple aim of better care experience, improved health, and lower cost? In her keynote speech at the 2015 Patient-Centered Oncology Care meeting, Julie M. Vose, MD, MBA, FASCO, 2015-2016 president of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), addressed the issue and what ASCO is doing.
