Future trends in specialty pharmacy must analyze specialty drug expenditures via both medical and pharmacy benefit, and then start to apply the pharmacy benefit management and med policy decisions that are integrated. For example, care or case management that is integrated with the health plan and pharmacy benefit manager is just one of the few services trending in specialty pharmacy management.
