What are some key lessons that practices participating in OCM are learning?
So, the data availability has been a tremendous learning experience for all of our customers. It’s a lot of information. So, taking small steps to understand where to focus with that data is something they’ve all been able to do. And so, things like [emergency department] utilization reduction. How to do that? Really the data informs them where they need to focus their efforts. Same with hospitalizations and same with using palliative and hospice care at the end of life. And then there’s the drug spend and doing comparisons there.
So, benchmarking has been an area of interest of all of our customers, and we do that in a blinded way, but identifying the top performers, even overall within the program and individual by disease looking at that. And what are they doing differently? Everyone is interested in that. What is that top performing practice doing and how do I make that a process in my practice? And so that’s something we’ve seen a lot of interest in. And that’s a great avenue for discovery in a model like OCM, which is a pilot, and this is the time to learn and test those things.
