FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, MD, announced her resignation this week, causing speculation that Robert Califf, MD, a new arrival to the agency from Duke University will be her replacement.

President Barack Obama’s budget will squeeze money from Medicaid and Medicare, but he also called for Medicare to negotiate specialty drug prices.
