Bundled payments are the most manageable of all the Triple Aim models that focus on quality, improving patient experience, and total cost of care, Lili Brillstein, said at the ISPOR Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Since the bundled payment model do not require the significant infrastructure that an accountable care organization and patient-centered medical home require, it is the easiest to jump into.
"Instead of focusing on a single provider and what that provider can achieve ... it puts the patient at the center and it focuses on everything that actually happens to that patient related to a particular diagnosis, procedure, or healthcare event," Ms Brillstein explained.
