When plans collaboratively work with physicians and hospitals to agree on metrics they can decide on how to evaluate performance together. Additionally, those performance metrics can not only look at cost, but also at quality.
“I think that’s what makes this whole development so exciting, and also enduring, patient friendly, and patient-focused,” Ms Ignagni said. “That’s what patients want, and purchasers want—they want to know they’re getting value for their investment. “
