Why is it important to incorporate real-world evidence and value into payment models?
I think 1 thing specifically on value is that we want to be getting our patients the best care possible. So, we want to make sure we are tying those outcomes back to what is important to that patient value and real-world evidence is 1 way we can do that a little bit quicker if we are able to unlock some of the data concerns behind it.
What are the barriers that remain to regularly using and incorporating real-world evidence?
I think 1 thing right now is that the data that is out there is not correlated in a way that folks can use it “fit-for-purpose” or “fit-for-use,” whether it be a payer or the FDA with drug development and the same thing goes for value. How do you incorporate something that’s important to a patient into a bigger more holistic picture that then can spit out a number or tie you to payment back to it?
