Pharmacists often serve as providers and clinicians of care as they build relationships with their members. In utilizing this opportunity, they can serve as an educator to patients, especially those with chronic conditions.
In terms of ensuring quality, Dr Berger says that every provider and consumer has a role in taking accountability. “Communication and engagement of all of the members of the healthcare continuum really are necessary in order for healthcare to remain viable in this country,” Dr. Berger stated.
