The meeting kicked off today with discussions surrounding innovative ways to deliver healthcare and debates over measures of value, beginning with a session that took a deep dive into how innovative technologies will require innovative ways of thinking about healthcare. There was also a session on global developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning in healthcare, which looked at different challenges and opportunities posed by these developments. Finally, a panel weighed the arguments for and against the use of the quality-adjusted life years for determining the health effects of medical interventions.
