Dr. Merle C. Turner Discusses the Benefits of Utilizing the CORUS CAD Test

Article

Dr. Merle C. Turner, Medical Director of Warner Family Practice in Chandler, Arizona, discusses his perspective on the benefits of the CORUS CAD genomic test in determining whether or not a patient with chronic chest pain needs to be referred to a cardiologist.

Dr. Turner explains that when a patient with symptomatic chronic chest pain has a low score, the pain's origin is not of a cardiac nature, so a referral to a cardiologist is unnecessary. The low score from the CORUS CAD genomic test also tells Dr. Turner to consider alternative causes for the chest pain, such as musculoskeletal, reflux, pneumonia, or gall bladder disease.
