In this segment, William Herman, MD, MPH, analyzes Dr Huckfeldt's presentation on glycemic targeting from a health service and clinical research perspective. "There is no one-size-fits-all measure of diabetes quality or glycemic care," said Dr Herman. Dr Herman also discussed his viewpoint as a clinical endocrinologist diabetologist. "So patients who are remarkably likely to have targets I think the targets were appropriately modified based on risk of hypoglycemia," said Herman. "I do have general concern that maybe the targets are even too low based on the evidence."
