Expanding Medicaid Could Save Idaho Hundreds of Millions of Dollars

Article

A governor-appointed panel said expanding Medicaid via an alternative funding plan they developed would save Idaho $173 million over the next 10 years.

Members of the governor-appointed panel that looked at options for expanding Medicaid to cover 103,000 of Idaho’s poorest adults told lawmakers Thursday that not expanding the program had cost the state “hundreds of millions of dollars” in federal healthcare funds that Idaho taxpayers are due under federal healthcare reform.
