How does the Pharmacy Quality Alliance work with healht plans on implementation of new quality measures?
PQA engages with health plans post-implementation on its measures by answering any questions they may have about how to accurately calculate the measure. Or if there is measure specification questions about how to identify the most eligible population for the measure, the exclusions, etc. So we try to provide feedback for those questions with those health plans, especially with our member organizations who consist of health plans,
We also engage those health plans who are our members in our measure updates. So when we update our measures, we have representatives from those health plans sit in on those panels that provide feedback from what they've experienced in the field based on those measures. And that feedback is very valuable as we think about new specifications or new medications to consider for the update of that measure to when it's implemented again.
