Transcript

What equity concerns could arise from the Braidwood v Becerra ruling?

Yeah, it's well known that if you make people pay more for something, they buy less of it. And it shouldn't surprise anyone that our own work and many others’ have shown that any level of cost sharing for any service is markedly impactful on underserved populations, such as those with low income and communities of color. So there are concerns from the get-go that any restoration of cost sharing at any amount for any of these 46 services will lead to meaningful declines in the utilization and associated with them is the clinical hardship that may come with the lack of early diagnosis and treatment.
