What are the advantages and disadvantages of CBT versus other treatments for psychosis?

I think it’s key that this is not versus other treatments. This is very much working alongside medication, alongside community care. It’s facilitating that process, and there is some evidence that the combination works better than alone. It’s working with families and carers, which is very important as well. Sometimes sharing a formulation and understanding what’s been happening can be really valuable to families, because then they can understand and they can then get more involved and help in very productive ways, and again we’ve shown in research that’s a helpful process.
