Dr Bruce Feinberg Highlights Pathways as a Solution to High Costs in Oncology

Video

The concept of pathways is the most widely adopted solution to reduce the high cost of cancer care, according to Bruce Feinberg, DO, vice president and chief medical officer of oncology at Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions.

There was a lot of discussion about the increasing costs of cancer care at The American Journal of Managed Care’s Patient-Centered Oncology Care meeting in November, and Bruce Feinberg, DO, vice president and chief medical officer of oncology at Cardinal Health Specialty Solutions, discussed pathways as a solution that has been widely adopted to reduce costs.

“There’s lots of permutations, but the general concept of consensus-driven, evidence-based aligned incentives around a pathway is really a major driver of change in the market,” he said.
