Coalition's Conversation: State of the Obesity Market

News
Article

Explore the evolving GLP-1 landscape with insights from industry experts, shaping future health strategies and plan designs for employers.

The Coalition’s Conversation podcast series is a 3-part discussion on how employers can incorporate glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) therapies into a sustainable strategy to address obesity and weight loss in the workforce.

This particular series, created in partnership between The American Journal of Managed Care® and the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health (GPBCH), is designed to empower employers with actionable insights and spotlight strategies they can adopt to stay ahead of market trends, enhance employee outcomes, and manage long-term plan impact.

In the first segment of the series, pharmacists from Employers Health will help listeners gain clarity on the current and projected GLP-1 landscape, including emerging disease states and delivery innovations. In light of the FDA approval of the first oral GLP-1 targeting obesity, employers will need a sharp understanding of how these therapies may reshape long-term plan design and workforce health strategies.

Podcast Speakers:

  • Tom Belmont, AP, CLU, ChFC, RHU, REBC, president and CEO of the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health (Series host and moderator)
  • Patrick Henry, PharmD, MBA, clinical advisor at Employers Health
  • Emily Malloy, PharmD, pharmacy resident at Employers Health
