AJMC Launches Online Contributor Program, Adds Voices to Healthcare Reform Discussion

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEMay 17, 2015

PLAINSBORO, N.J.—The American Journal of Managed Care has created a forum for a range of voices to comment on healthcare reform and payment issues, giving contributors the chance to reach an ever-growing audience that follows the changing healthcare landscape.

AJMC.com, the Journal’s website, now features an online contributor forum, http://www.ajmc.com/contributor, which allows selected writers to discuss up-to-the-minute news events, consumer issues, or emerging clinical topics of special interest to payers. Commentary on the forum is subject to AJMC editorial standards but does not go through the peer review process. This will allow contributors to address emerging topics in real time and respond to reader feedback where appropriate.

Contributors to AJMC.com, with links to their most recent work, include:

· Thomas Morrow, MD, the chief medical officer for NextIT, whose concerns include how to improve clinical outcomes among patients with chronic disease

· Immaculada Hernandez, PharmD, who is focused on studies involving the use of claims data to gauge the effectiveness and safety of new drugs in real-world settings

· Michele Brown, a former pharmaceutical executive who has lived with type 1 diabetes for 42 years, and who writes the blog, Totally Diabetic, for others living with the disease

· Andria Jacobs, RN, MS, CEN, CPHQ, who has 25 years of administrative and clinical experience in the healthcare industry.

“A key strength of AJMC has been our ability to bring together stakeholders from across the healthcare spectrum, and we have done this again with our contributor forum,” said Brian Haug, president of The American Journal of Managed Care. “Our contributor program represents the next step in our effort to engage as many voices as possible, as healthcare delivery undergoes its most sweeping changes in more than a generation.”
