Jennifer Bresnick of Health IT Analytics included a study that appeared in the July issue of The American Journal of Managed Care (AJMC) in her article that asks, “Will Risk-Based Population Health Management Take Off in 2017?" The study found that one-third of organizations already receive more than half their revenue from risk-based arrangements.
Revenue Cycle Intelligence cited an August study from AJMC in its recent article that discussed whether value-based penalties are fair to safety net hospitals. While much of the article focused on a recent study in Health Affairs that calls for basing penalties on peer comparisons, writer Jacqueline Belliveau also included the AJMC findings that CMS penalties are effective at motivating hospitals to reduce readmissions.
