An article in UT Southwestern Medical Center referenced a study published in the September 2023 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Characteristics of Self-Triaged Emergency Department Visits by Adults With Cancer,” concluded that adults with cancer had a difficult time self-assessing how clinically severe their acute care needs were but rarely used triage to help.
