An opinion piece in The Los Angeles Daily News referenced a study published in the July 2021 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Reduced Medical Spending Associated With Integrated Pharmacy Benefits,” found that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana members covered by an integrated pharmacy benefit experienced slower growth in medical spending than those with a pharmacy carve-out.
A story on FingerLakes1.com cited a contributor article published on AJMC.com, the website of AJMC®. The article, “Links Between COVID-19 Comorbidities, Mortality Detailed in FAIR Health Study,” highlighted the health risk of COVID-19 posed in even those without underlying comorbidities, with 16.71% of examined patients who died from COVID-19 not exhibiting any preexisting conditions.
