An article by The Hill cited a study published in the March 2021 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Limiting Medicaid Access to Accelerated Approval Drugs: Costs and Consequences,” indicated that although accelerated approval drugs account for less than 1% of Medicaid spending, states seek CMS approval to avoid coverage of these drugs and cut costs.
A newscast by KX News referenced an article published on AJMC.com, the website of AJMC®. The article, “Diabetic Amputations May Be Rising in the United States,” highlighted that lower-limb amputations may be increasing in the United States after decades of decline, with approximately 230 reported amputations attributed to diabetes each day in the United States.
A piece by LeedsLive featured an article published on AJMC.com, titled, “How Much Does It Cost to Give Birth in the United States? It Depends on the State.” The article examined the cost of giving birth in the United States, finding that the price tag can vary by thousands of dollars depending on the state, with inpatient birth charges amounting to roughly $8300 in Arkansas compared with nearly $20,000 in New York.
An article posted on moms.com cited an article published on AJMC.com, titled, “Atopic Diseases Linked to Behavioral Difficulties in Children, Adolescents.” The piece spotlighted associations between atopic dermatitis and internalizing and externalizing problems among younger children with the condition, who experience emotional problems, and adolescents with other atopic diseases who have relationship issues.
