A piece by International Business Times referenced an article published on AJMC.com, the website of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The article, “COVID-19 May Be Transmitted Through the Eye, Report Finds,” highlighted study findings published by JAMA Ophthalmology that suggest severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019, might be transmitted through the eye.
An article posted on Becker’s Hospital Review cited a study published in the May 2020 issue of AJMC®, titled “Accountable Care Organizations Are Increasingly Led by Physician Groups Rather Than Hospital Systems.” The study indicated that as the majority of new accountable care organizations (ACOs) have been led by physician groups rather than hospital systems since 2015, this shift requires policies that address the characteristic strengths and weaknesses of physician-led ACOs.
In a GlobeNewswire release on Yahoo Finance, an article on AJMC.com was featured, titled “Diabetic Amputations May Be Rising in the United States.” In the article, study authors found that for every 1000 adults with diabetes younger than 45 years, the number of amputations fell from 2.9 to 2.1 from 2000 to 2009, before soaring to 4.2 in 2015.
Public News Service’s article, “Free COVID Symptom Checker Enhances VA’s Rising Telehealth Use,” referenced a study published in the January 2019 issue of AJMC®, titled “Patient and Clinician Experiences With Telehealth for Patient Follow-up Care.” The study found that for established patients, virtual video visits may provide effective follow-up and enhanced convenience compared with traditional office visits.
