The article, “Obesity Increases Risk of MM Precursor, While Weight Loss Indicates Risk of Cancer Diagnosis,” covered 2 abstracts presented at the American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting, which showed that weight and how it changes can have implications for cancer risk and cancer diagnosis.
PatientEngagementHIT referenced a study published in the May 2022 issue of AJMC®, titled “Improving Care Coordination and Reducing ED Utilization Through Patient Navigation.” Findings of the study indicated that a navigation program may have lowered the odds of repeat emergency department (ED) visits in patients with low baseline ED utilization and increased the odds of follow-up primary care appointments.
Another study published in the May 2022 issue of AJMC® was featured in a article by RevCycleIntelligence. The study, “Characteristics of Home-Based Care Provided by Accountable Care Organizations,” showed that although accountable care organizations delivered a diverse array of home-based services, many of the services are not reimbursed.
Allure cited an article published in a 2017 supplement to AJMC®, titled “Overview of Atopic Dermatitis.” The article noted that incidence of atopic dermatitis has increased 2- to 3-fold in industrialized nations, impacting approximately 15% to 20% of children and 1% to 3% of adults worldwide.
