An article published on DOTmed about a doctor who was stabbed by a patient cited an article published on AJMC.com, the website of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). Although the first case of COVID-19 in the United States was reported in January, it was not until March that the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic and the United States announced a national emergency.
A Daily Independent piece referenced an AJMC® study published in 2019 titled “Patient and Clinician Experiences With Telehealth for Patient Follow-up Care.” The study found that when comparing virtual video visits with in-person office visits, 63% of patients and 59% of clinicians reported no difference in overall visit quality.
