An article by RevCycleIntelligence referenced a study published in the June issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®). The study, “Association Between Hospital-Insurer Contract Structure and Hospital Performance,” found that hospital performance measures, such as prices and costs, are associated with hospital-insurer contract types.
Another study published in the June issue of AJMC®, “Availability of Prices for Shoppable Services on Hospital Internet Sites,” was cited in articles by Healthcare Finance, Becker’s Hospital Review, and OrthoSpineNews. Study findings indicated that many hospitals are in violation of new federal legislation requiring price transparency of health care services, with only 60% of hospitals currently displaying their cash prices and 5% displaying their minimum negotiated charges on their public websites.
An article by Miner News cited an article published in a supplement to AJMC®, titled “Update on the Management of Chronic Idiopathic Constipation.” In the study, researchers highlighted that continued research and development are necessary to provide novel therapeutic agents that are both efficacious and safe for patients with chronic idiopathic constipation.
