An article by The Hill cited a study published online ahead of print from the December 2021 issue of The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®), titled “Availability of Prices for Shoppable Services on Hospital Internet Sites.” In the study, researchers found that many hospitals are in violation of new federal legislation as only 60% of hospitals display their cash prices and 5% display their minimum negotiated charges on their public websites. The study was also mentioned by Becker’s ASC Review.
An article by MM&M cited a study published in the September 2020 issue of AJMC®, titled “Comparing Patient OOP Spending for Specialty Drugs in Medicare Part D and Employer-Sponsored Insurance.” The study uncovered that out-of-pocket spending for specialty drugs is substantially higher in Medicare Part D compared with employer-sponsored insurance because of the Part D benefit design.
A piece by PsychiatryAdvisor referenced an article published in a 2001 supplement to AJMC®. The study, “Current Perspectives on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Major Depressive Disorder,” indicated that improvements in patient care and resource utilization for depression can be expected to occur through better recognition of the disorder, initiation of appropriate treatment early in the course of the condition, and careful monitoring of treatment to ensure remission.
