The article, “Physician Shortage Requires Multi-Prong Solution,” indicated that Medicare’s refusal to expand physician education funding may further exacerbate physician staffing shortages.
A piece by The New Hampshire Gazette cited an article published on AJMC.com, titled “US Ranks Worst in Maternal Care, Mortality Compared With 10 Other Developed Nations.” The article addressed study findings indicating the United States has the highest maternal mortality rate among 11 other developed countries.
The study found significant disparities in the exposure to contaminants. Communities with higher percentages of Hispanic and Black residents were not only more likely to have unregulated chemicals in their drinking water, but they were also more frequently located near pollution sources.
